Welcome to Mid-Lakewood Civic Association!

Mid Lakewood Civic Association (MLCA) is a neighborhood in south Lakewood, Colorado, established in 1971.

The MLCA Neighborhood Association is not an HOA. We neither establish nor enforce covenants. Membership is voluntary but encouraged, with a sliding scale of annual dues payable in May. Learn about the many benefits to supporting our neighborhood association on our membership page. You can pay your dues by check or online.

We are here to serve the residents of Mid-Lakewood Civic Association.  You will find neighborhood news and stories on this site as well as information about events happening in our community. If you are inclined to do rewarding volunteer work, we welcome your participation on one of our committees.

In addition to this website, residents can connect with their  neighbors through the NEXTDOOR network. Nextdoor.com is an online network created for neighbors to share community events, items for sale/free, crime and safety concerns, and ideas on improving our community. NEXTDOOR welcomes new neighbors, and helps residents get to know each other better and stay informed about our wonderful Neighborhood.

We also have a FACEBOOK page where we post interesting stories, event reminders, and more.

The boundaries of MLCA are from 6th Ave. to Alameda and Garrison to Wadsworth.

Our neighborhood boasts three beautiful parks to enjoy nature, family, and community.

Meadowlark Park

Located at 8601 W 2nd Ave, Meadowlark park is a treasured gem of the Mid-Lakewood neighborhood. It has a small playground, a creek, and expansive grassy areas. It's the location of our Annual picnic, our summer food trucks, and a favorite sledding spot in the winter.

Balsam Pond Park

Located at 8200 W 1st Ave, Balsam Pond Park is a small park with pond and grassy area. It has a short path from 1st Ave through to Balsam St. and makes a lovely addition to your walk around the neighborhood.

Cottage Park

Cottage Park is located at 110 S Cody St and is the newest addition to our neighborhood. With a brand new playground, super fun labyrinth, and nice grassy area, it is a wonderful place to spend the day.

We are proud of South Lakewood Elementary School, which is located in the heart of our neighborhood and provides an inclusive and welcoming place for our children to learn. Their Community Garden has become a wonderful place for our residents to gather and grow community.

The MLCA board is here to work for YOU

We are a group of volunteers that organize fun events to foster community, initiate neighborhood watch groups, and address any issues you feel are a concern for the safety and quality of life in our neighborhood.

Check out our current projects.

The board meets monthly and holds public meetings several times a year. These are announced in the newsletter, on the main page of our website as well as on social media. If you are a member, we will also send an email for these meetings.

A summary of our past meetings are available on the Meeting Minutes page.

Anyone living in our community can be elected to the board - let us know if you're interested in being a candidate for the election in September.
