Meadowlark Park Improvement Grant
In June 2023, MLCA was awarded a grant to make improvements to Meadowlark Park. We were awarded funds for:
- Stone chess tables
- Grills
*We are working the parks department on these projects - you will be seeing these changes soon.*
We are applying for the 2024 grant for more neighborhood improvements!
SLE Community Garden
We love our community garden at South Lakewood Elementary! There are plots available to the community. Our MLCA neighbors can assist in caring for the classroom plots over the summer.
MLCA is working with the community garden and South of 6th Sustainability to host several events for the entire community including a family movie night on May 30th, 2024 and a live concert (TBD).
Neighborhood Watch
MLCA is committed to maintaining the safety and integrity of our neighborhood. Neighborhood Watch helps us keep our area safe. Learn more on our neighborhood watch page!
Food Trucks
Join us for food and fun on the 2nd Tuesday of the month throughout the summer. You bring the lawn games, we'll bring the food trucks, including Cazuela’s Tacos, Urban Keotvore, Slife’s Devildogs , and more!
5pm-7pm on June 11, July 9, and August 13, 2024.
Annual Picnic
Come say "goodbye" to summer with us at the annual picnic on Sunday, August 25, 2024. We'll provide food from the grill and you can bring a side to share. We'll have bounce houses, face painting, a raffle, and lots of fun!
Annual Tree Lighting
Every year, MLCA adorns the largest tree in Meadowlark park with lights to brighten the darkest days of winter. Join us for crafts, songs, hot cocoa and snacks as we light the tree on Sunday, December 1, 2024. RSVP on our events page so we can prepare enough cocoa and snacks.
Please bring a canned good for our donation to the Jeffco Action Center.
South of 6th Sustainability
We are proud to partner with South of 6th Sustainability on many of our projects so that we can create an eco-friendly neighborhood. There are several community events hosted by South of 6th including composting classes, litter clean up, and more!
Community Bike Ride
MLCA and South of 6h Sustainability hosted a community bike ride in May 2023. We wore costumes, had safety demonstrations from Bike Jeffco, and had a fun ride around our beautiful neighborhood.
In 2024, we are hoping to partner with Pedago Bikes to test out a fleet of electric bikes on our ride!
